So begins Rian’s story and connection with De Rustica.
Rian is not employed by De Rustica Estates, but De Rustica Estates has realized his potential. If you see Rian, he jogs. He is an extremely helpful and friendly person. One morning while jogging on the Oudemuragie road, he stopped to assist in opening a gate.
After several questions and answers, the potential was spotted. De Rustica Estates and Meiringspoort organizers generously sponsored Rian for the marathon.
It was the very first time that Rian had participated in a marathon.

Aubrey is employed by DRE. He also ran the 12.5 last year (2018) and completed at number 47 with a time of 1: 3: 11
This year Aubrey finished 17th with a time of 54:24!! This is the fruit he reaped after a year of consistent exercise. Well done Barries!!

Nikolaas is also employed at De Rustica. He ran the 21.1 km last year and finished 162nd with a time of 1:42:55.
This year he wanted to run the 12.5 km to see if he could do better with the shorter distance. He finished 20th with a time of 57:36.
